Abstract

The aim of the paper is to inspect how much the group reality therapy could make an effect
on the internal control and the self-esteem of the college students, and to offer the useful materials for development of group counseling programs.
The hypotheses of this study are as follows
Hypothesis I : The college students who had the reality therapy program might have shown significantly higher level of internal locus of control than those who didn¢¥t have the reality therapy program.
Hypothesis II : The college students who had the reality therapy, program might have shown significantly higher level of self-esteem than those who didn¢¥t have the reality therapy program.
The subjects were 22 college students who volunteered to attend this study, 11 college students of whom belonged to the experimental group and the rest were regarded as the control group.
The results are as follows
First, the internal locus of control of the
college students who had the reality therapy program have increased significantly more than that of those who didn¢¥t have the reality therapy program.
Second, the self-esteem of the college students who had the reality therapy program have increased significantly more than that of those who didn¢¥t have the reality therapy program.
As a conclusion, the reality therapy program was proved to be effective for increasing internal locus of control and self-esteem of college students.
